| COURSE DESCRIPTION | This course will introduce participants to basic concepts and terminology of infectious disease transmission dynamics. Course topics include: transmission dynamics of infectious diseases; identification of the main reservoirs, sources, ports of entry, and ports of exit of human pathogens; the relations between microorganisms and humans; the routes of infectious disease transmission; emerging vector-borne infections; emerging and reemerging sexually transmitted diseases; foodborne and waterborne diseases; and the implications of food supply globalization on the emerging infections. |
